MADIBA

The earth, doesn’t give preference to land or sea

It’s just giving life to all beasts and trees

Just giving life to all of its dwellers

No man, no man is born with hate in his heart

No man is born wanting to tear lives apart

Because hatred and hostility, these things are learned

But when, when, power riches begat greed and corruption

Time, time for compassion it falls away

And when, voices of reason are talking too loudly, talking too much

The time, to silence dissent, to silence the protest, well it is today

Lock me up, forget the key

I am a criminal

Tell the world of peace and order I’m the enemy but

I see the light from my window

Call me insurgent, terrorist

I’m going to find my way

I say take away paper, take away pen

But the mind, the earth, the hearts of the people

They don’t forget where we come from

We're always fighting for a salvation

Liberation, emancipation

We are the victims of defamation

Sully the name, sully the station

We always fighting for reprobation

Not restoration or reparation and

We are the combatants of separation

Hate is the foe, knowledge the weapon

But when, when, power riches begat greed and corruption

Time, time for compassion it falls away

And when, voices of reason are talking too loudly, talking too much

The time, to silence dissent, to silence the protest, well it is today

If you stand in a valley and look up

Stand on a mountain and look down

Stand in the wilderness you’ll see your reflection

If you stand in a valley and look up

Stand on a mountain and look down

Stand in the wilderness you’ll see your reflection

If you stand in a valley and look up

Stand on a mountain and look down

Stand in the wilderness you’ll see your reflection

If you stand in a valley and look up

Stand on a mountain and look down

Stand in the wilderness you’ll see your reflection

Lock me up, forget the key

I am a criminal

Tell the world of peace and order I’m the enemy but

I see the light from my window

Call me insurgent, terrorist

I’m going to find my way

I say take away paper, take away pen

But the mind, the earth, the hearts of the people

They don’t forget where we come from
